Danielle Logan, RN
I would like to recognize Danielle, who works in the Infusion Center in the Tower at Newport News, because she exemplifies everything an extraordinary nurse should be.
Danielle is an exceptional nurse – smart, professional, efficient, and incredibly knowledgeable – but what truly sets her apart is the way she cares for her patients as people. From the very beginning, she has listened with genuine empathy, making me feel heard, understood, and valued. She never rushes through conversations and always takes the time to address my concerns.
What means the most to me is that Danielle makes the things that matter to me important to her. She has become my advocate, ensuring that my questions are answered and my concerns are addressed. She consistently follows up, never leaving me wondering what comes next or whether I have been forgotten.
One moment that especially stands out was when she took it upon herself to call me on my cell phone to update me about something I was deeply concerned about. She did not have to do that – it was not just part of her job. She did it because she genuinely cared. That simple act brought me tremendous peace of mind and reminded me that I was not facing my situation alone.
Danielle has an extraordinary ability to make every patient feel that their situation truly matters. Her compassion, dedication, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to her patients are gifts that cannot be taught – they come from the heart.
In every sense of the word, Danielle is a patient advocate, an outstanding nurse, and quite simply, a rock star. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY award. She has made a lasting difference in my life, and I will always be grateful for the exceptional care and kindness she has shown me.
