She was so good with our dad—gentle, kind, hands-on, and catered to his every need.
Our dad was dying within 24-48 hours, and we knew it. He required a 24/7 sitter. Our nurse, Danielle Feth, was taking care of him and, without being asked, offered to stay past her shift to fill in for a late “sitter” and be with our dad. He was a handful. He was sedated with pain meds, and we were mentally drained, upset, nervous, etc., knowing he was dying. She was a breath of fresh air. She was not the typical quiet, clinical, by-the-book nurse. She was funny, loud, full of expression, joking, and incredibly caring, loving, and passionate. She was exactly what we needed. She was so good with our dad—gentle, kind, hands-on, and catered to his every need. In the two days he was there, he was only conscious for about two hours. He was not exactly “there,” but for those two hours, between him and Danielle, we laughed and enjoyed our last moments with him. We can’t thank Danielle enough. We will always remember the impact she made on our family. Thank you for being so amazing, kind, gentle, attentive, funny, caring, and wonderful!
