Daniel Sumulong, RN

My husband had colon cancer and is still recuperating in the hospital. One of his nurses is Daniel, or one of God's angels. From the moment I met Daniel, I knew he was there for my husband, who has late-stage dementia. Daniel's demeanor, patience, and composure are to be praised and recognized. And he listens. 

My husband had to have a colonoscopy, and that's difficult with the liquid prep. I had one a few weeks ago and yuck! I certainly didn't think he was capable of drinking it all. The other option was tube down his throat. Daniel wanted to try to get him to drink it, even though he was super busy; he managed it! He didn't give up on my husband. Daniel makes sure he's comfortable and has eaten and hydrated.  

I'm writing this as I sit here in the hospital room. Daniel, by God's grace, is his nurse, and I can leave knowing my husband in the best of hands with him. He is so dedicated to his patients, as someone else he took care of mentioned to me. I totally concur! He's a Godsend. I wish we could take him home with us!!
