My wife, M, was admitted to the floor unexpectedly. She was scared and anxious about being in the hospital. DJ was absolutely a bright light in a tough situation. He was an amazing advocate for her care, messaging providers and pushing for her care. He made her feel comfortable in the most uncomfortable situations. Her birthday also happened during her hospital stay. M was going to be NPO at midnight before her birthday, so earlier in the evening DJ brought her a cake and had the entire unit sing happy birthday. It brought my wife to tears. DJ embodies everything it means to be a great nurse. He is kind, compassionate, caring, and truly a wonderful human being. He went above and beyond for my wife, and I could not be more grateful.
