Dan has been with University Hospitals for 29+ years. He has been A's nurse for ECT, Spravato, and Ketamine for 29+ years, through all her treatments. Dan has come to know A personally and treats her with kindness, respect, and professionalism. Dan treats A like one of her children. Dan always has a smile for A, encourages her, saves her favorite cubicle for her when she comes for treatment, and willingly informs A about any questions she has about medication, treatment, side effects, etc. Dan takes the extra time to answer questions or has the doctor do so. Dan never gives the impression that he is rushed, even though some days they may be short-staffed. Dan never fails to keep a close eye on A after treatment, even though A goes to sleep. Dan keeps a close eye on her vitals due to her low blood pressure. Dan is not afraid to have another nurse or doctor check his math calculations for the Ketamine IV treatments. He is not afraid to ask the doctor to answer A's question either. This is the hallmark sign of someone who thinks of others and not himself. Taking all these characteristics together, is the sign of one who is caring, professional, and thinks of others besides himself. Dan is a true DAISY Nurse.
