I would like to take a moment to acknowledge Danette Turner from 3H for her consistent work ethic on providing the most attentive care to the needs of patients as well as the needs of the organization's throughput.

From an operations perspective, we depend on the throughput of the hospital to keep the ED and OR flowing to avoid bottlenecks and delays in patient care. Danette consistently goes above and beyond to assist the Care Coordination Center (C3) in achieving the throughput of her unit, 3H, a unit that is dependent on the cardiothoracic service line. 
 
She is always willing to listen to the needs we present to her unit to secure beds for CTICU patients to downgrade to so that some of the most critical and complex OR cases have an ICU bed to go to after their operations, as these cases are not appropriate to recover in PACU.

I have personally taken calls from Danette while she was not on shift because she is thorough with patient needs and wanted to be sure they were addressed. Her efforts, as well as the efforts of the staff on her unit, may not even be realized to others down the pipeline in the OR, but they truly are effective every day for our patients. Despite the many demands and stress of her service line, she always has a cheerful outlook and is willing to collaborate to ensure these needs are met. She is such an asset to so many and a true testament to the culture of TGH.
