In a moment filled with urgency and uncertainty, Crystal’s steady presence, attention to detail, and compassion stood out.
A call came to the Emergency Room regarding an incoming ambulance with a patient believed to be in active labor upon arrival. With no time to hesitate, two STC students were asked to respond—Crystal immediately stepped forward. Arriving before the ambulance, the team quickly prepared for what was about to unfold. Crystal was assigned the crucial role of documenting events, and when things began moving quickly, she remained calm and focused. She carefully recorded what was happening while also helping care for the patient, allowing the nurse to give her full attention where it was needed most. In a moment filled with urgency and uncertainty, Crystal’s steady presence, attention to detail, and compassion stood out. Her actions made a real difference during a critical delivery and left a lasting impression on the nurse she supported. It was this moment of quiet leadership and dedication to patient care that led to Crystal being recognized with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Student—a well‑deserved honor that reflects the nurse she is becoming.
