I am writing to wholeheartedly nominate Crystal, RN, for the DAISY Award in recognition of the exceptional care she provided to my mother during her recent stay at Doctors Hospital.
From the moment Crystal entered the room, she brought with her a sense of calm, compassion, and confidence that made a tremendous difference in our experience. Crystal went far beyond the expected duties of a nurse. She served as a tireless advocate for my mom, ensuring that every concern was addressed and that we, as a family, felt informed and involved. If she didn't have an immediate answer, she never hesitated to find one, often going out of her way to follow up and provide clarity. Her commitment to communication and patient advocacy stood out as truly extraordinary.
Crystal's upbeat and positive attitude was a source of comfort to both my mom and our family. She was always professional, respectful, and kind, and it was clear that her actions were guided by a genuine love for nursing and patient care. What impressed me even more was learning that Crystal is a relatively new graduate, with just a year of experience. Her maturity, clinical judgment, and emotional intelligence far exceeded what one might expect at this stage in her career.
Witnessing Crystal's practice was a breath of fresh air. She gave me renewed hope and affirmation that our work as educators is making a difference. Although I have never worked for Chamberlain Atlanta nursing school, I felt just as proud as if I had. Crystal is a shining example of what we hope our students will become: thoughtful, competent, and passionate nurses who embrace the profession with heart and integrity.
Crystal fully embodies the values this award represents. She:
