From the moment Courtney introduced herself to my wife and me during our first visit, we knew she was special. Our first impression was spot on. Her warm and friendly smile immediately put us at ease in an otherwise strange and somewhat frightening environment. With so many others assigned to her care, when she was with us, she made us feel like we were her only patients. She explained things to us in terms we could understand and demonstrated heartfelt care and compassion. As much as we didn't look forward to our visits for chemotherapy, we actually looked forward to seeing and interacting with Courtney. Over the course of twelve weeks of treatment, she became much more than a nurse to us; she became a valued friend. The occupation she has chosen is perfectly matched with her set of skills. She is an invaluable employee to the Cancer & Hematology Center, and we hope she can be recognized in a tangible and appreciative way. She has made a real difference in our lives during this health journey.
