Courtney Robinson, BSN, RN
Our son was admitted for a simple surgery to repair pyloric stenosis. Surgery went well – he ate after surgery. He was okay until he wasn’t. About 5 hours after surgery, he vomited, causing him to aspirate. Not long after, he started declining. Courtney Robinson was on top of everything. She called the surgery team to make them aware of all changes and concerns she had.
Courtney advocated for us like no other. She did not stop until she found out what was wrong with him. Turns out he aspirated after surgery and tested positive for coronavirus. Not only did she not stop until she found out what was wrong, but we also connected with her on a personal level. She shared a story with us that she had been in the same position we had, and she knew this was one of the toughest things to face: seeing your child sick and suffering. With all of this being said, this is why we believe Courtney is the best candidate for the DAISY Award. With Love!
