During one of the most frightening moments of our lives, we met Courtney. She was my husband’s nurse in the ER after I had to bring him in when he became critically ill during cancer treatment.

My husband has never been hospitalized before. He was scared, in so much pain, and experiencing a level of vulnerability and loss of control he had never known before. I was scared, too. Courtney met every need and request almost immediately with such compassion, care, and grace. Her kindness and calm presence brought comfort not only to him but also to me.

Courtney went above and beyond in ways that cannot be taught, and she was such a perfect start to the incredible care that ultimately saved my husband’s life. We will forever be grateful for her empathy, support, and extraordinary nursing care. Has she not made him feel safe, dignified and truly care for I don’t think he would’ve agreed to further treatment.
