Every day, the baby’s mom would come in, and Courtney would take the time to sit with her and see how she was doing. The patient was in our NICU for months, but Courtney made that time easier by having empathy and advocating for the patient and her family.
Courtney has done such a good job taking care of my daughter and being a support for me. When my daughter had her first bath without me being present, Courtney noticed my sadness at having missed that event, checked on me, and made sure I would be there for any future events. She has an empathetic spirit while keeping the balance of taking care of my baby and taking care of the family.

Courtney is an exceptional RN in the NICU. Every day, she goes above and beyond in her work, demonstrating not only clinical expertise but also compassionate care that profoundly impacts our tiniest patients and colleagues.
In the past few months, Courtney cared for a very premature patient who was going through a very long and challenging medical journey. She went above and beyond caring for not only the patient but also the family. Every day, the baby’s mom would come in, and Courtney would take the time to sit with her and see how she was doing. The patient was in our NICU for months, but Courtney made that time easier by having empathy and advocating for the patient and her family.
Courtney’s commitment to care not only uplifted the patient but also reassured their family during a stressful time. She found out the patient had her first bath without the mom there, and that the mom was very upset about it. Courtney took the time to listen to her feelings and made certain that special milestones like this did not happen without Mom being there. Her colleagues often look to her as a role model for delivering compassionate, patient-focused care. She is someone that her peers can rely on and come to with questions without fear of judgment. Her dedication truly embodies the spirit of nursing excellence.
