With a clear vision for her unit, Courtney consistently works toward achieving that vision, meeting the goals she sets with dedication and determination. She is not only an outstanding mentor but also a truly remarkable person.
Courtney is an excellent example of what a nurse manager should be. She is thoughtful, considerate, and always willing to lend a hand. Courtney is not afraid to be creative and help to innovate new ways to problem solve for the betterment of her unit and her staff. She has grown immensely in her roles as a bedside RN, to Nurse Educator, Nurse Manager, and Senior Manager. She is passionate about her work and it reflects in the satisfaction of her staff as well as those who work alongside her. When you work with Courtney, you are in the best of hands. She has a calm demeanor that can make even the most frantic of situations seem like a breeze. I know I (and many others) would say that we feel lucky to have her on our team. She would be very deserving of this honor.

We on the 8th floor are so lucky to have Courtney leading our team, and I know I speak for all my peers when I say that. I stopped being a float after 4 years simply to work under her. If we need anything, Courtney is there in a heartbeat no question. She is our biggest advocate and cheerleader. When we're on the floor she’s always offering a helping hand or answering our call lights as she’s rounding through. Everyone should have a manager like Courtney. I am so blessed that she is mine.

Courtney Fennell has been a steady and supportive presence since our time at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and now the WYNN Hospital, and her leadership continues to positively shape the way we deliver compassionate care at the bedside. From the beginning, Courtney has led with approachability, empathy, and a deep understanding of what it takes to be a bedside nurse. She consistently checks in with staff, not just during routine moments, but especially during high-stress situations when her guidance and support matter most. I recall several times when she jumped in without hesitation, whether to help with a rapid response or to assist with nursing tasks during overwhelming shifts. Her hands-on leadership and calm demeanor help reduce stress and create a space where nurses feel safe, heard, and motivated to provide the best possible care. Courtney’s ongoing commitment to our team makes a real difference in our ability to stay focused, connected, and compassionate with every patient interaction.
