I am writing with immense gratitude and heartfelt admiration. Our daughter recently underwent open-heart surgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to correct a congenital VSD, and her four-day stay was filled with the anxieties and challenges that come with such a significant medical event.
She experienced complications following her surgery, making her recovery particularly difficult and necessitating re-admission. During this vulnerable time, we had the privilege of having Cory as her nurse for three out of our four days. From the moment he became her caregiver, Cory consistently went above and beyond the call of duty, transforming what could have been an overwhelming experience into one infused with genuine compassion and unwavering support.
Cory possessed an incredible ability to make us feel at ease, never once making us feel as if we were imposing or asking too many questions. His patient and reassuring demeanor was a constant comfort. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Cory showed remarkable thoughtfulness in attending to our daughter's emotional well-being. He understood the importance of maintaining a sense of normalcy and joy for a young child in a hospital setting. He not only allowed her to comfortably spend time at the nurses' station in the mornings, granting me precious moments of much-needed rest, but he also personally walked her to and from art and craft activities, ensuring she could participate in moments of childhood normalcy.

He had an innate understanding of her needs, offering a comforting hand when she felt scared and actively engaging with her unique personality.
