On the day we welcomed our sweet baby boy into the world, Nurse Corrine provided us with truly exceptional care. As first-time parents, we were understandably anxious about the labor and delivery process. We had spent the prior week in the antepartum unit being monitored for pre-eclampsia, and while every nurse we encountered at Banner Estrella was wonderful, Corrine stood out for her deep empathy, calming presence, and outstanding professionalism.

Our induction began, but labor didn’t truly progress until the next morning. Within just an hour and a half, I went from zero to six centimeters dilated, an experience that was intense, painful, and at times overwhelming. Through it all, Corrine was by our side, offering constant reassurance, compassionate encouragement, and clear, thoughtful answers to all our questions. She advocated for me to receive my epidural promptly and took the time to explain each step of the process in a way that brought us both comfort and confidence.

Corrine’s knowledge of laboring positions and the laboring down process was incredibly impressive and helped ensure that everything progressed smoothly. After just a few practice pushes, she quickly recognized that it was time to alert our provider, as the baby was well on his way. Unfortunately, our doctor was significantly delayed in arriving, which heightened our stress and frustration. Yet once again, Corrine stepped in, not only as a nurse but as a calming force. She validated our emotions, helped us stay grounded, and made us feel genuinely supported during that uncertain time.

Once the delivery began, Corrine was nothing short of Superwoman, seamlessly managing multiple tasks with grace and precision. She assisted the provider, closely monitored my contractions and blood pressure, encouraged me through every push, and even captured precious photos of our first moments with our baby so that my husband and I could be fully present. Corrine exemplifies everything you could hope for in a nurse: compassionate, highly skilled, composed under pressure, and genuinely kindhearted. I feel incredibly grateful to have had her by our side on one of the most important and emotional days of our lives.
