I wanted to recognize and nominate RN, Corey Jaccobs, for the Prestigious DaAISY Award.

I work both here at UC Health and part-time at Fifth Third Bank. One of my coworkers raved about a particular Nurse who changed their perception of UC Health with an unforeseen transfer from one hospital to UC Health in Clifton. Her mother was receiving care at another hospital and was then transferred here. This was extremely emotional for her mother because a few years ago, she had to say goodbye to her husband who passed away in our main hospital a few years ago. They sat in the waiting room for a while before being placed in a care room. Corey came out and showed such compassion and tenderness for their wait, checking and updating her mother. He would eventually take her mother back to put in an IV, and though he was made aware she was a hard stick, he was both reassuring, patient, professional, and gentle with her mom. He was able to place the IV. Corey made their mother, as well as their family, a priority, even with a very traumatic loss that took place in our ER. Because of their interaction with Corey, they have recently moved her mother's care to UC Health permanently, forgoing her previous medical relationship. Her care has been amazing, down to the surgery she had last week.

Thank you, Corey Jaccobs, for changing someone's journey at just the right time. You have created a life experience that will remain with this patient and her family forever.
