Corelda was friendly and kind and articulate. She did a great job at communicating what she was doing and what would be happening. She communicated in a caring and warm way. She used language to explain things that a non-medical person could understand. My daughter had surgery, and I stayed overnight in the hospital with her. There were several circumstances that came up that Corelda was very knowledgeable about, and she worked hard to make happen. My daughter has poor veins and has a port, so Corelda knew the protocol for using a patient's existing port and made sure she found one of the few nurses certified by the hospital to access it. Also, my daughter is on some unique medications and didn't bring the actual prescription pill bottle with her. We traveled here from Waco, so we couldn't just run home to get the bottles. Corelda made phone calls and persevered to make sure my daughter got her medicines, and it wasn't easy. She did everything with excellence and kindness. She also had an overall positive attitude, which was so helpful in the CVICU.
