I would like to nominate Conswelo Stiles, RN, for the DAISY Award. She will be with Davita for 13 years this April, with 7 of them as RN., the other 6 as a PCT. I can always depend on her to show up for work and help cover extra shifts as needed. If she does need to swap a shift or gets sick, she almost always finds her own coverage. She also helps handle any call outs or issues while I am on PTO. She is my preceptor, adequacy, access, and backup anemia manager. I often hear her out on the floor educating patients and TMs. She strives to always learn something new. She completed Spark, attended the Nurse Leadership Meeting a couple of years ago, and completed CC/CNM training sessions. She hasn’t always had the most professional manner, but I do have to say she has really worked on this, and I have seen a huge difference and growth in her. She always comes to me and tells me if she has made a mistake or handles a situation in a way she shouldn’t have. She often comes to me and asks if there is anything she can do or take off my plate. She communicates well with me and the entire team regarding patient issues and outcomes. She has an excellent rapport with the providers. She has voiced that she doesn’t know if she wants to be a manager, but maybe a CC one day, or at least be a CC first before becoming a manager. She more than deserves this award.
