Thanks to Cole’s attention to detail, calm under pressure, and compassionate presence, the patient was not only kept safe but also given a chance at recovery and hope.
I am honored to nominate Cole his exceptional dedication, clinical skill and compassionate care in the field of mental health nursing. His work quite literally saved my life.
Recently, Cole cared for a patient experiencing an intense mental health crisis- someone in such deep pain that they could not envision any path forward other than ending their own life. The situation was complex and extremely high-risk. Without empathy, vigilance, and a sharp clinical eye, critical signs might have been missed. Thanks to Cole’s attention to detail, calm under pressure, and compassionate presence, the patient was not only kept safe but also given a chance at recovery and hope.
What sets Cole apart is not just his technical skill, but his unwavering respect for the dignity of every person he serves. He provided care that was trauma-informed, nonjudgmental, and rooted in a deep understanding of psychiatric illness. He did not just prevent a tragedy; he made healing possible.
Mental health nursing often happens behind closed doors, in moments few people see or fully understand. But the impact is profound. Cole exemplifies the courage, excellence, and humanity that this field demands. His work beautifully represents CRH. He also educated peers and works in the community as an advocate for mental healthcare. He is a shining light in the CRH system, and his work deserves recognition.
