Clark is always ready to help during the children’s surgeries when it is stressful and hectic. During a critical burn surgery he took leadership in delegating the team member’s responsibilities, which allowed the case to run smoothly. He exhibited good communication skills and most of all assured that the patient was safe and received the necessary treatments at an efficient pace. He always provides a calming and knowledgeable demeanor. He is compassionate; detail oriented, and always puts patients first and foremost. He consistently provides excellent patient care to his individual patients as well by planning age appropriate care and collaborates with the families as needed.
He is able to care for his patients, act as charge nurse, coordinate with all the team members, and simultaneously plan ahead for future patient and medical staff needs. Clark is a real team member. He has been instrumental in the success of many new employees and is willing to help at any time. For example he takes charge, acts as a resource person, teaches nursing students, assumes preceptor responsibilities and is always pleasant! He is very welcoming to everyone that visits or rotates through the operating room. Clark is an outstanding member of the surgical nursing team here at Shriners Hospitals for Children.
