Thanks to Clarisse’s quick actions, a Code Stroke was activated, and the patient was diagnosed with an acute brain hemorrhage and was able to receive the treatment they needed in time.
Clarisse was taking care of a patient who was admitted for vomiting, weakness, and high blood pressure. Although the patient had a history of strokes, the neurology assessment was inconclusive. During her shift, Clarisse noticed something wasn’t quite right.

“Because Clarisse’s ability to detect emerging clinical signs worthy of concern, she proceeded to assess the patient thoroughly, which led to her conclusion that the patient may be having a stroke,” the nominator says. “Clarisse was swift to clearly communicate real-time concerns to the provider and to the Rapid Response Team.”

Thanks to Clarisse’s quick actions, a Code Stroke was activated, and the patient was diagnosed with an acute brain hemorrhage and was able to receive the treatment they needed in time.

“Clarisse demonstrated living our culture, and I am honored to nominate her for the DAISY Award,” the nominator says.

Thank you, Clarisse, for living out our Core Values and for your quick actions to provide safe patient care.
