My Dad was admitted to Oncology with Multimetastatic Oesophageal Cancer. He had been diagnosed 1 month before. He had excruciating pain in his neck. Claire was there the first night he was brought up to Oncology. She put him, and us, his family, at great ease. In addition to her fantastic nursing skills, she demonstrated great care and compassion, showing a genuine interest in him. She spoke to my Dad about his local area, history, and heritage. She monitored his pain and sleeping medication. I saw her analysing which medication was more effective for him. He was on the ward for 1 month before passing. He brightened every time he saw her coming on shift. We hope she knows the positive effect that she had on our Dad and ourselves during this hugely traumatic time. Thank You, Claire.
