She is always checking on her fellow nurses, making sure the techs aren’t overwhelmed, and still checking on me along the way.
There are a million things I could write about how Claire has made such a positive impact on me as a student during my preceptorship on 4C. From the first day, I was treated with nothing but kindness and respect, which is not always the case for students.

One thing I admire about Claire is the way she speaks to and treats patients, regardless of how they speak to her. She always starts our shifts with a smile, and it has a visible impact on the patients. Another trait that Claire possesses is her willingness to help those around her, regardless of the task. She is always checking on her fellow nurses, making sure the techs aren’t overwhelmed, and still checking on me along the way.

In her spare time, she will walk around to see what supplies need restocking so that nothing runs out. That shows a great deal about who she is as a team player, but also that she wants to support her coworkers in any way possible.

There is no better teacher than Claire, because she makes me feel at ease while still challenging me to be my best and continue growing my skills. I look forward to the days I get to spend with her because she teaches me how to be confident in myself, how to advocate for my patients, and how to embody the role of a nurse truly.

For some nurses, this may be going above and beyond, but Claire sets this type of care as the standard, and this is the type of nurse I want to treat me.

I am deeply grateful for her patience, kindness, and willingness to teach me, as well as for the overall positive preceptorship experience. Claire deserves a Daisy award more than anything, and I can’t wait to continue watching her shine!
