My 96-year-old father was sent to Fairlawn Rehab to get stronger in order to return home following a hospital stay for congestive heart failure and pneumonia. She was a very experienced nurse who was extremely caring and compassionate when my father was unable to eat much and became constipated, without a bowel movement, for two weeks. After multiple attempts to provide a solution, it finally resorted to a fairly dramatic intervention. Even other members on the floor call her the bowel queen. She was caring and compassionate, stroking his arm, reassuring him, and joking with him a little to lift his spirits. She seemed to know exactly what to do to make him comfortable despite his suffering, and she knew medically what to do to alleviate the problem. It was amazing to watch, and the sense of relief that my father had following the intervention was comforting
