Cindy Morgan, BSN
Cindy made one of the hardest days of my life so much better. My 9-month-old son was seriously ill and on oxygen, and I’d had an extremely stressful hour earlier in the day when his room-air challenge didn’t go well.
When Cindy started her shift, the first thing she did was take the time to properly introduce herself, get to know our family, play with the baby, and offer me a hug because she’d heard I’d had a hard day.
After spending some time with my son, she went to find him a light-up toy to keep him amused. He was irritable and bored with being stuck in a hospital crib. The toy she brought, with lights and music, brought my son so much joy, and his joy allowed us to finally relax a little bit after a harrowing couple of days.
The pediatric unit was in the ER because of NICU overflow, and our tiny room was wearing on us. Despite the cramped conditions, with one parent sleeping in a recliner and the other on the floor, Cindy was so careful to be as quiet as possible while doing her work, stepping around us as we slept.
We are so grateful to her for the love and care she gave us all when we needed it most. She is a treasure.
