He provided me with lots of hands-on experience and educated me on how to be a thorough nurse.
I completed my first clinical rotation in nursing school, 2C. Christopher, CJ, was the nurse I would be assigned to numerous times. With that, I was able to witness first-hand how he cares for patients. He has a great deal of compassion and provides all his patients with a sense of security. I am grateful to have shadowed CJ as I enter my nursing journey. He provided me with lots of hands-on experience and educated me on how to be a thorough nurse. I believe CJ "deserves his flowers" for being an exceptional nurse here at Kern Medical.

CJ was beneficial to all of the Unitek students, educating us, training us, and, most importantly, being so patient and kind. Thank you, CJ, for shaping the future of nurses.

I was admitted to the hospital for an infection on my left hand. It doesn't sound too bad, but I was scared of the surgery, and my nurse kept me informed and the pain under control. CJ ordered a food tray so I would have food waiting after surgery. It was very painful, and his compassion and empathy made my stay as best it could be. CJ is friendly and very knowledgeable. He provided patient education on my wound care and medications. CJ also changed the dressing on my surgery wound. Very painful, but I was medicated, and he did a great job.

On my son's 8th day as a patient at Kern Medical, we met CJ. He was what my son needed, as he had been progressively improving and was ready for the continued challenge. CJ came in and had an idea for a lidocaine patch. As a mom, I was thankful for an alternative pain management and only as much as was needed, instead of my son being pumped full of medications, he didn't necessarily require mitigating his pain. CJ was my son's day shift nurse for the last four days, and the consistency of care was a nice bonus. While in the care of Kern Medical, I feel my son received TLC from all nurses, doctors, students, and staff. I'm recognizing CJ for his professionalism and to thank him sincerely for the encouragement he gave my son and his family during my son's last four days in the hospital.
