I am honored to nominate Chris Moore for the DAISY Award. Over the past year, Chris has grown and developed into an exceptional charge nurse and a true leader on our Med/Surg unit. His dedication to patient care and team support sets a standard of excellence that inspires everyone around him. He consistently goes above and beyond his role. He assists with passing medications, completing admissions and discharges, and providing hands-on care alongside patient care technicians. His willingness to step in wherever needed ensures that our patients receive the highest quality care and that our team feels supported.
As a mentor, Chris invests in the growth of less experienced nurses, offering guidance on assessments, plans of care, and clinical decision-making. His strong nursing knowledge and ability to collaborate with physicians guarantee that patient needs are communicated effectively and addressed promptly. When Chris is on duty, I never have to worry—the unit runs smoothly and efficiently under his leadership. Beyond his clinical expertise, Chris fosters a positive and professional work environment. He is kind, compassionate, empathetic, and reliable. His sense of humor and approachable nature make him a joy to work with, while his professionalism and work ethic set an example for others.
Chris embodies the qualities of an outstanding leader: knowledgeable, hardworking, supportive, and deeply committed to both his patients and his team.
