Christine Rico, RN
After a long wait in the ER, we were given a room in the Heart Institute, then transferred to the Cardiac ICU. That led up to Christine’s care.
Christine was not only so skilled as a professional, but she also excelled at total patient “care” – we felt the warmth. Her presence in the room was always like those wonderfully warm blankets you provide. She was never without a smile and bubbly laugh. The reassurance and comfort she provided was so welcoming to an overwhelmed and frazzled couple.
Through any medical complications, her sense of well-being was contagious. We were able to relax in our ICU room, in spite of all the tests and monitor alarms.
Christine set the bar very high with her nursing skills, but they were truly matched by her “people skills” and her communication skills. She always informed us of what was coming up, or what to expect from any med changes.
Christine’s eyes on us were so encompassing; she noticed any of the gaps we were experiencing down to the tiniest details. Any need – however small – Christine was quick to address.
Christine felt like the next-door neighbor that you just love having in your life. She’ll always be a bright spot in our memories of our Saint Luke’s stay. We were blessed to be in her care.
