Across the nominations, students used words to describe Dr. Markut such as supportive, excellent motivator, role model, provided great assignment and practicum feedback, inspired hope, motivational, caring, flexible, and always available. One student captured the spirit of Dr. Markut beautifully with the following words: “Dr. Markut has the essence of a nurse embedded in her, the way Florence Nightingale had taught us to care for our patients as a whole, she cares for her students as a whole”. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor, Dr. Markut!
