During this year‘s patient appreciation week, Chris exemplified her commitment to being a patient advocate, an advocate for her Clinic, and also for her staff.

To demonstrate this, she put together several videos that captured everything her staff did for patients at the Bedford facility. The culture of Chris’s Clinic is underscored in the videos she made. Her facility culture is patient-centered, patient-first, and she never stops working for her patients and her staff. She exemplifies everything good about nursing: she is focused ,compassionate, passionate about the care she gives, and she always puts her patients and her staff before herself.

Her extraordinary leadership and dedication are the reasons her facility is well respected, has great outcomes, and receives high survey scores, and why her patients and staff are as dedicated to her as she is to them.

When patients come to her clinic for their first dialysis treatment, Chris ensures they are comfortable, eases their fears, and welcomes them to the Clinic that is the Bedford family.

Chris is the nurse for whom the DAISY Award was created to celebrate. She has dedicated not just a day, a week, or a month to Nursing; she has dedicated a career of compassion, love, and caring for her patients, their families, her staff, and her community.
