My mother fell twice in December 2024 and was in the Sanford Hospital in Bagley with many broken ribs and other medical issues. My mom passed away in the hospital in January 2025. Many wonderful nurses provided care, but one that stood out and definitely deserves this award. She meets all the criteria of this award, Christine Horn. Christine Horn was one of the RNs taking care of my mom. My mom was in much pain but never complained. Christine would know when she needed support for her pain. She was so kind and compassionate all the time. She carried a smile with her all the time, even when we knew it was very busy. She anticipated what my mom needed and took the initiative to care for my mom. She was very tender with my mom. It is obvious she is a seasoned and experienced nurse; she answered our questions so we could understand what was happening. She made sure to ask us what we needed, all while caring for my mom. She shared information with the doctors and would teach younger CNAs and nurses. The day my mom passed away, she was there, and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else to be there caring for my mom to help her on her way to Heaven. My family and I are so grateful for the care Christine provided.
