This is how I would describe Christina to a complete stranger or guardian who was nervous about their child's day at NorthStar: Christina is a phenomenal nurse who truly knows her patients. I have witnessed her interact with multiple children on the Chena unit, and she treats each child as an individual. She is firm but fair, always listening with care and compassion.

One moment that stands out was when Christina responded to a patient on the verge of requiring a hold. The moment the patient saw Christina, their behavior shifted entirely, from distress and aggression to giggles and smiles. It was remarkable to witness how her presence alone could bring such a transformation.

Christina is not only an exceptional advocate for her patients, but she is also a respected and collaborative colleague. As a fellow team member, I have always received respect, understanding, and support from her period she listens to my concerns as an ancillary care team remember, ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care.

I also recall an instance when a guardian called the unit, distressed about having to bring meals for their child, who claimed there was no food available. Christina took the time to invite the guardian into the cafeteria to reassure them, showing that the patient had a variety of meal options and that there was no need for concern.

Christina's dedication, compassion, and professionalism make her an invaluable asset to the NorthStar Team, especially the pediatric unit. I sincerely hope she is recognized for her incredible work; she truly embodies the spirit of the DAISY Award.
