Christina truly defined the DAISY Award during the hours that she was my husband's nurse. She ran the entire time we were in PACU to get her patients what they needed. Everything concerning to my husband, she didn't brush off, she actually sat down next to him, took his hand, and told him it was ok. He got nauseous, and she ran right to the med room and got him Zofran. Within 15 minutes, she checked on its efficiency, and when he said it didn't work, she immediately turned around and got on the phone and got Compazine ordered. It was administered within minutes, and his nausea was resolved.

Every time she walked by, she checked on his pain and medicated appropriately, more impressively telling him what she was medicating him with, how much she was giving, and what to expect. She made sure he had everything he needed and more, from elevating his leg to a PT review to a case for his glasses.

Christina, you are amazing! You are in the job you are supposed to be in, the passion you have for post-surgical patients tells me you are right where God wants you to be.
