Christina Bruce, BSN, RN
As a first-time mom coming in for an induction, I was anxious and knew nothing about labor and delivery. I have also been a nurse for nine years and have worked alongside hundreds of incredible nurses, and I truly feel this nurse was sent by God because she was the exact nurse that I needed to deliver my son.
My birth experience is a roller coaster, as most of them are, but every time I think about it, I sob because I feel so fortunate to have had Christina as my nurse. I will remember her for the rest of my life.
My labor progressed extremely quickly, and she didn't miss a beat. She did not leave my side and offered every intervention and technique to ensure my comfort. I pushed for hours, and she coached me through every single contraction.
She answered my million questions with patience and kindness. She knew exactly what to say when I felt like I couldn't keep going. She had the perfect balance of respecting what I wanted for my labor experience while also confidently guiding me when needed. This made me feel empowered and safe during the most intense experience of my life.
When my son was born with shoulder dystocia, she remained calm and focused. I've heard hundreds of birth stories, including the good and the bad, and I know I got extremely lucky in my care.
Christina is one in a billion. I've never felt more cared for. She deserves all the recognition.
