August 2026 Honoree
Chinonso (Lindsay) Egwuibe, BSN, RN
I was a patient at HCA Conroe Hospital. During that time, I came into contact with and received care from Chinonso (Lindsay) Egquibe. When I was singing her praises to the Trauma doctor, she told me about the DAISY Award that you give to outstanding employees, and I immediately said, “I want to nominate her,” and she gave me the paper to complete.
Lindsay was so professional, but in such a kind and caring way. I immediately felt I could tell her how I was feeling when she asked and that she cared to know my answer. Every interaction I had with her was above and beyond what you could ask for in a nurse.
I had been vomiting a lot and could not keep anything down, not even water, and she said to me one day, “We have got to get to the bottom of why you are still vomiting,” and she started asking me questions. After several questions that were obviously not helping her to diagnose the problem, she stood looking at my chart and said, “Did you have contrast with your scans?” To which I said a big yes. “That’s it,” she replied with all the confidence one could ask for. We discussed why this bothers some people, and she reassured me I would be feeling better very soon, and she was right. I felt she was not going to stop until she had the answer.
She is a blessing to her patients, but also an exemplary employee to HCA Hospital; you are fortunate to have her there, and I know she is going to go far in her nursing profession.
