My wife had her c-section the day before yesterday and her pain this morning was unbearable. Earlier, I had tried to encourage her to take her first dose ever of Tramadol and also to walk more. However, she didn’t seem to want to listen to me. Only when the pain had gotten so bad did she agree to take Tramadol. Her assigned nurse unfortunately was off the unit with another patient.

Chinenye came to help us and brought her the Tramadol. She could have simply dropped it off and left without saying anything. However, she took the time to explain everything to my wife and provided her encouragement to walk more as well. She did this by sharing her own experiences and with a lot of positivity that really changed my wife’s mindset.

My wife worried less and focused on her pain control and walking and she had a fantastic remainder of the day. Chinenye even came back later in the afternoon to check on her and cheer her on. The funny thing is that my wife and I are both nurses and are knowledgeable in the care, but it takes a special nurse such as Chinenye to motivate their patients. Thank you!
