I would like to nominate Chenoa for the DAISY Award for her compassion, dedication, and commitment to patient care. She is truly an amazing person who goes above and beyond, both in the classroom and in the hospital. Chenoa remains calm and professional even when caring for difficult patients. She consistently shows patience, kindness, and empathy, ensuring every patient feels respected and cared for. No matter the situation, she continues to provide the best care possible. Her kindness does not go unnoticed—patients and peers often express how much they appreciate her positive attitude and genuine compassion. She is also a strong team player, always willing to help others and support her team. Chenoa exemplifies what it means to be a nurse—caring, dedicated, and selfless. Her commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care truly makes a difference in the lives of those she serves. She is more than deserving of the DAISY Award.

Chenoa is genuinely so kind and caring; she has a heart of gold. She strives for kindness, determination, and understanding with every patient population. She cares for the vulnerable, the rural, and the downtrodden.

Chenoa is the kindest, most wholesome person. She was not scared of talking to psych patients and made the most of our time. Although students could not perform “patient care,” she ensured meaningful connections with patients. She encouraged me to play Uno with her and a patient. This patient ended up talking to us about his life, showed us a picture of his family, and said he can’t wait to get out and be with his children. I am so grateful Chenoa included me in this experience. She also ended up talking to a patient on the last day of our second day, who told her about his life story and how much his charges have affected him. I can tell Chenoa truly cared because she had tears in her eyes when she told me about it; she cares so deeply for her patients.

During Management class we presented our Quality Improvement Projects. She is running a hand hygiene campaign and will be involved in everything. It is not completed yet, but she will be included in the education and implementation of it all. I think this is really special and shows she truly wants to improve something, because most of us students picked a project that was mostly “one and done”. Her project will be continuous for a very long time and improve patient safety as well as the safety of employees, providers, and students.
