Chelsea made my birth amazing. I’m so grateful she coached me through my unplanned, unmedicated labor that I wasn’t expecting, and gave me hope while I was pushing and scared. I loved her.

My husband spent 12 hours in the ER for nausea, anxiety, pain from a total knee replacement, and an infection in his knee. When we got a room at the hospital, it was on the labor and delivery floor. We were a little worried that the care might be difficult because the nurses aren’t used to treating knee infections. That was the furthest from the truth.
From the moment we set foot on the floor, everyone was wonderful. Our first day was spent with Chelsea as our nurse. She was compassionate, caring, listened to my husband's concerns, and he did have many that day. He was scared of the infection, scared that this infection would stall his recovery. She listened to everything and had an answer for him. And an answer that he was willing to try.
Chelsea cared for my husband for two straight day shifts. She checked on him, often gave him options, and cared for him and his anxiety. We could not have been happier with our care during our time at McKenzie Willamette. Chelsea also made it a point to check on me, his wife, and really get to know us both. Thanks to the labor and delivery team and especially to Chelsea.
