I have worked with Chelsea since 2016, when I started as a care partner, and have continued to work alongside her to this day. Chelsea has always been someone I look up to as a person, friend, and nurse. Honestly, everyone should be more like Chelsea, although she would never admit it. I am nominating Chelsea for this award for not one single event that happened, but every day that she comes into work, she has the best attitude in frequently, the worst situations. She is the most helpful charge nurse I have worked with. She handles patients' concerns as if they are her own. She listens to patient complaints and validates them, no matter how ridiculous. She truly makes the best out of any situation. I have seen her very recently be a sitter for a patient to not take staff from the floor, start ENDLESS IVs for all of us, respond to every code EMU or bed alarm, take a 7-patient assignment during a snowstorm as charge, clean a patient room when we were short on housekeepers with our Manager, M, among many other things that most won't do. Anyways, I could go on, but I think you get the point, not many are like Chelsea, and we as a hospital are truly blessed to have her as a caretaker and a coworker.
