I am recognizing Charito for her exceptional compassion and kindness during a time when I was struggling emotionally.

I was breaking. I was scared, overwhelmed, and struggling to hold myself together after being moved to an unfamiliar unit. I felt completely alone and didn’t know how to get through that moment. Her calm presence, empathy, and genuine care made me feel safe and supported when I otherwise wouldn’t have felt okay.

She stayed with me, listened, and offered comfort and reassurance when I needed it the most. She didn’t look at the clock or try to fix me quickly. She simply stayed and let me fall apart safely. She grounded me when everything inside me felt out of control. She saw my pain and met it with patience, compassion, and genuine care.

What she gave me in that moment wasn’t just nursing care; it was humanity. It was reassurance. When everything felt uncertain, she went beyond her role to care for me as a person, not just a patient. What she gave me in that moment meant more than she may ever know. Her kindness will not be forgotten.

I am deeply grateful for the compassion she showed, and she truly represents the very best of nursing. I am forever grateful.
