A young peds patient was coming in for a CT scan. He was scared and started to cry as he went down the hallway. Ceili was already in CT when she heard the crying. First, she made sure her own patient was still doing okay, then, without hesitation, she went over to the boy to help. She helped him calm down and asked the CT tech if she could stay in the room with him during his scan. Pediatric patients are always a challenge to scan, especially when they are scared, because motion during a CT scan will sometimes need repeats, which means additional radiation exposure. But with Ceili by his side, this patient was able to be successfully scanned without any repeats. Ceili showed amazing professionalism. She made a difference for this patient that day. And the CT techs are always grateful for her help.

A pediatric patient was brought in to CT, and he was very distressed and scared about his scan. Ceili had brought in a different patient to CT, but when she heard the little boy crying, she did not hesitate to step in and help calm him down. She even volunteered to stay in the scan room with the patient, wearing our lead apron for protection. Ceili was able to talk with the patient and keep him calm so that he would not move during the scan. Because of this, the CT tech was able to complete the scan without repeated exposures due to motion. This was a very kind gesture from Ceili, going above and beyond to make sure the patient was able to complete the scan. She helped this little boy even though he was not her patient.
