I would like to nominate Cayla Adams for a DAISY Award. I work with Cayla on FBC, and I know she truly is an amazing nurse. Recently, I was fortunate enough to have Cayla as my daughter's nurse during the birth of my grandson and witness firsthand the exceptional care she provides. Cayla cared for M for three consecutive nights. Each night, she took the time to explain every step of care in detail, always ensuring M understood what was happening. She used humor and kindness to ease M's anxiety and made her feel comfortable and supported throughout her labor.

When it became clear that M would need a cesarean section, I was unable to be with her in the operating room. However, as a labor and delivery nurse myself, I knew she was in outstanding hands. M later shared that Cayla never left her side and continued to calmly explain everything that was happening, providing constant reassurance. After the baby was born, he required assistance with breathing and was transferred to PRMC's NICU.

While waiting for the NICU team to arrive, Cayla and H thoughtfully moved the warmer and M's bed to the center of the room so she could see and touch her baby before he was transferred. That moment meant more than words can express. Cayla also went above and beyond by taking multiple footprints and creating beautiful keepsakes with his name, weight, and length, including an adorable gingerbread ornament. These are treasures M will cherish forever. Cayla's compassion, attentiveness, and dedication exemplify what it means to be an exceptional nurse. She is truly an asset to Parkview.
