I have known Cathy for 4 years. I became acquainted with her when she was employed by Piedmont Fayette Hospital as a Staff Nurse on the Surgical Care Unit. During that time, I found her to be hardworking, motivated, and knowledgeable. Over the time I have known her, I have witnessed tremendous growth in Cathy, and I am certain that the skills and abilities she has developed will enable her to excel in any endeavor.

A few years later, our organization reintroduced the Unit-Based Educator role. I cannot say enough about how Cathy has embraced this role and made it a lifeline for the unit. Cathy is eager to teach and ensure the team understands what and why. Cathy understood the importance of the Always Safe program and ensured that the entire team was members of the Total Recall Club, maintaining consistency with the practices. Cathy listens to what I feel the team needs and makes it happen. She has a remarkable passion for nursing.

As our UBE, Cathy is very knowledgeable in her field. She serves as a valuable resource for fellow nurses and students working in the primary care department. She is self-motivated to enhance her knowledge in her career field. Cathy has consistently demonstrated her dedication and commitment to patients, peers, and the nursing field on a daily basis. She is always striving to improve her patients' experience with quality, safe care.

In short, I wholeheartedly recommend Cathy for this Award. I believe she is the example of the UBE that our organization needs.
