While Catherine was taking care of our mother, she was treated with dignity and respect.
It was evident that Catherine made the right career choice. Unfortunately, my mother became ill during the holiday season and spent the next 6 months primarily in the hospital. We had several frustrating situations during this stay.
Not all nurses care about the patients they care for. We had nurses ignore calls for help, leaving water in a doorway causing my mother to fall. Not only did she have to face the humiliation of falling, but then she was treated badly by the staff because they were upset that she had caused more work.
Only special nurses should take care of elderly patients with declining health. They are having to deal with all the changes ahead in their lives and need support. I think some of these nurses forget we are not here by choice. While Catherine was taking care of our mother, she was treated with dignity and respect. She treated her as if she had treated her own mother.
This was the first time in a year that I could leave my mom and feel she was getting the care she deserved. Anybody who has a loved one in the hospital can appreciate that.

Catherine was so kind, caring, and compassionate. While she cared for my mom in Mercy Tower, she was very helpful and knowledgeable and contacted her doctor with any questions we had. She is definitely in the right field.
