Catherine and I both enjoy going to concerts, and during one of my treatment visits, we discovered we both enjoyed a particular country artist who is not particularly well known. As my treatment continued, we would talk from time to time about music, and one day I mentioned to her that the artist was coming to Kansas City and that she should go since I was unable to due to recovering from a bone marrow transplant.

The week following the concert, I came into the clinic and asked how it was, and Catherine brought me an autographed shirt from the artist. I was absolutely blown away that someone would care enough to not only go to the concert and get some of it on video so I could hear it, but also to get me something, even going as far as waiting to have him sign it.

This gesture truly meant the world to me. If everyone were like her, the world would genuinely be a better place. I cannot imagine how I could ever repay her for this, but I would really like others to know how amazing a person she is and have her receive the recognition she so rightly deserves.
