Cassidy cared for our newborn son, and from the very beginning, she made sure to explain exactly what she was doing for him during each care time. She taught me helpful tips to support his feedings, showing me the best way to hold him, how to pace him, when to pause, burp, and everything in between. She always answered all of my questions and was excellent at communicating how he was doing, as well as what milestones he still needed to meet before he could be discharged.

During our son’s stay, while Cassidy was caring for him, my wife unexpectedly needed to undergo emergency surgery due to excessive bleeding a few days after delivery. Cassidy was incredible at making sure I could attend to my wife when needed, while still keeping me fully informed about our son’s care.

One moment that truly stood out was when I logged into the NICview camera from pre-op to check on our son. While I was watching, Cassidy wrote a note on a post-it to let me know she was about to do the car seat test with him, and she held it up to the camera for me to read. Nurses are allowed to turn off the camera entirely while working with the baby, so the fact that she took the time to keep me updated in this thoughtful way went far above and beyond. It gave me incredible peace of mind knowing our son was being well cared for and that Cassidy was actively helping him meet the milestones needed for discharge, all while I was able to be fully present with my wife as she prepared for surgery.

While every nurse who cared for our son did a wonderful job, Cassidy truly stood out in the way she supported us as parents. She kept us updated, included us in his care, and made sure we felt confident and prepared to continue caring for our son once we were finally able to bring him home.

Cassidy made an overwhelming and emotional time so much more manageable, and we are deeply grateful for her exceptional care.
