Cassi was the nurse who helped deliver my daughter. In addition to keeping me well informed about each step of the process and what that would entail, she took care of me as a person.

She made helpful clinical decisions to help minimize my pain and taught my husband how to provide counterpressure to ensure that he was also part of the process. She braided my hair to keep it out of my face when I was vomiting, trying to help me feel more prepared for my first moments as a mother. I truly appreciate all of the energy and effort she put into making the day special and keeping my baby and me safe.

I felt so much safer knowing that she had in-depth knowledge and would be able to anticipate a problem, such as discussing the benefits and risks of Pitocin with me, especially when I couldn’t think clearly. My husband was feeling very anxious and helpless, but when Cassi taught him how he could help in the process, she empowered him and made him a part of the team.
