I had surgery earlier this year. At first, everything was going okay, until it wasn’t. I had some internal bleeding and a collapsed right lung; my blood pressure tanked. My first recollection was opening my eyes and trying to understand what was going on. That’s when I met my wonderful nurse, Casey. She helped me to understand what was going on. Not only did she take the time to explain things to me, but she explained everything to my family as well. Casey held my hand and showed me nothing but compassion and kindness in a very scary time for all of us.

I had lots of questions. Casey answered each and every one, and if she did not know the answer, she went and found them. I’m so grateful for the team of amazing doctors, but wonderful nurses really make all the difference in making one feel safe and protected. Casey went above and beyond the call of duty, and I will forever be thankful for her selflessness. Casey touches lives with her care, especially in all that she did for my family and me. I will always be grateful, and I will never ever forget her. Thank you!
