I would like to nominate Casey for the DAISY Award in recognition of the extraordinary care he consistently provides to both patients and their families. Casey is a nurse whose compassion, professionalism, and presence leave a lasting impression on everyone he cares for. His patients frequently share how supported and safe they feel in his care, and his peers value him deeply for his kindness, teamwork, and mentorship of new nurses. He exemplifies our hospital's mission and values through his daily actions. He is patient, attentive, and always willing to lend a hand or a listening ear. Whether he's supporting a family through loss or guiding a new nurse through a complex task, Casey brings his whole heart to the work he does.

“Casey, thank you for taking such excellent care of my dad and family during his stay on your floor. In those first dark days following my mom's promotion to heaven, your words and actions brought us comfort. It seems a small thing to tell a fellow believer that we share the same faith in our precious Savior, but in that moment, I saw hope in my dad's face that my heart had been desperately waiting for. God truly is ‘wherever two or more are gathered'. He had a purpose in placing us in your care, even if it was just to share those few words. Thank you again, and if we don't meet again in this life, I'll be looking to greet you in the next, where there will be no more sorrow.”
“Casey, thanks for being so great with my mom today. We saw many nurses during my dad's final months; you were at the top of the good list! Just wanted to say thank you, you're outstanding.”
“Casey was my shift nurse for 6 to 8 shifts during my three-week stay at the hospital. Your description of someone who meets the criteria of a DAISY Award encapsulates Casey’s abilities in full! He is empathetic, compassionate, knowledgeable, and very relatable, not only to me, but also to my wife and family. A specific example is when I related to Casey that my utmost wish after surgery is to have a can of Sprite 0. He truly takes my wish to heart and keeps encouraging me to step closer to my dream, no matter how trivial it may seem. Casey is definitely an extraordinary nurse!"
