She remembered details about me, my life, and my procedures from the previous weeks

Carrie was just the most wonderful, delightful person to have by my side during a pretty intense health ordeal. I was in the ACU at Mid Coast three times in 14 days over less than a month for kidney stone procedures with Dr. C. As you can imagine (and hope you have never experienced), I was in unimaginable pain, and the entire ACU staff was so wonderful every time I was there (planned and unplanned - 5 kidney stones decided to leave my body all at once). Since I was there every Tuesday, I had the same team and the same staff with me, which was a delight.

Carrie, in particular, took time during each visit to sit down and chat with me just about me and my life, and made me feel like so much more than a patient. She remembered details about me, my life, and my procedures from the previous weeks, explaining everything in detail and making sure I felt comfortable with the process every step of the way. She made me feel comfortable and kept my anxious mom at ease before and during each procedure.

It's just so incredibly clear how deeply Carrie (and the rest of the ACU team) cares for each patient - through pain, through embarrassment (post-procedure/coming out of anesthesia was ... a wild ride), and also just explaining every step of the process in a way that was easily understood.

I live in NYC and have had to have surgeries and procedures, and while these hospitals are world-renowned, I certainly did not ever receive the level of care I received at Midcoast, and from Carrie in particular, which is why I think she is so deserving of this award.

From the bottom of my heart (and also my poor kidneys) - Thank you, Carrie!
